CSG provides comprehensive network, systems administration, and data center services to ensure our clients that their infrastructures are robust,
reliable, secure and highly available. We help clients preserve the integrity of their systems and information by designing, implementing, and
maintaining highly secure systems and networks. We ensure systems reliability within our data centers through redundant communications,
power supplies, and HVAC systems. Our Infrastructure Services include:
Data Center Services
CSG supports client outsourcing, cloud computing, and disaster recovery needs through a pair of linked, high-performance data centers. We
currently operate data centers located in the HUBZone of Catoosa, OK (a suburb of Tulsa) and in the HUBZone of West Siloam Springs, OK
(approximately 70 miles east of Catoosa). Each 3,000 square foot facility is Tier II / III rated facilities by the classification criteria of the Uptime
Institute™. The data centers are connected to one another through a dedicated, secure circuit so that each center serves as the failover site for the
other. For clients, all of this means their systems and data are highly secure and highly available.
Our data centers feature redundant and conditioned electrical power with backup generators, redundant HVAC and climate control, and an
advanced fire suppression system. Our technology infrastrucutre comprises Dell R710 servers, SonicWall firewalls, VMware ESX enterprise-
level virtualization, and dedicated 10 Mbps (burstable) connectivity from Cox Communications. We also utilize NexSan Storage, Dell PowerVaults,
and Cisco VoIP phone systems in our network infrastructure. CSG’s data centers are staffed 24x7x365 with operational support agents and on-
site or on-call analysts and adminsitrators. Physical security is preserved through key-card access to buildings and data centers, closed-circuit
cameras, and armed security guards.
Network Services
CSG's team of engineers apply time-tested procedures for designing, installing and maintaining network systems. We use a process-based
approach to build a powerful, yet cost-effective architecture. Our comprehensive set of network services ensures our clients that their networks are
robust, reliable, and secure.
For instance, at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), CSG is helping to design, engineer, build, and operate a
nationwide, high-performance research network to interconnect NOAA research supercomputing facilities – the NOAA Research Network (NRN).
The need for such a network is driven by NOAA’s efforts to centralize High Performance Computing (HPC) resources, resulting in data transfer
requirements expected to average 80 terabytes per day.
- Network Security
-
CSG helps clients preserve the integrity of their systems and information by designing, implementing, and maintaining highly secure
networks. We develop and support the policies, procedures, and standards required by federal organizations including certification and
accreditation (C&A) testing. We carry out information security and classification, personnel security (e.g., ethics, passwords, general
software, networks, internet, laptops, and portable computing devices), computer and network policy (e.g., system administration, physical
security, access control, logon policy, assurance, accountability, audit, and reliability), network policy, software development policy,
Continuity of Operations Programs (COOP), and policy enforcement.
- Planning & Design
-
CSG plans the most efficient way to build a fully scalable computer network to meet clients' specific needs, today and in the future. We
design complete solutions using cost-effective strategies to achieve both short-term and long-term goals. CSG provides expert technical
support in network design, engineering, test and evaluation, and security.
- Implementation & Integration
-
CSG has broad experience implementing, integrating, and testing networks utilizing a range of technologies and topologies. We assist in
Federal acquisition policy to assure that components and tools are acquired in accordance with all applicable policy and regulations. We
assist in the management of data communication networks between and within the various centers, offices and data collection sites.
- Network Management & Monitoring
-
CSG ensures high operational reliability, system efficiency, and quality service levels. We monitor network performance, proactively
conduct maintenance, and detect and respond to security threats. We respond to user service requests, troubleshoot hardware and
software problems, and maintain virus protection and security patches.
Systems Administration
CSG has broad experience working across the entire life cycle of systems administration. Our expertise ranges from the evaluation, integration,
security, and deployment of hardward and applications, to systems monitoring, updating, optimizing, and decommissioning. We ensure the
integrity, reliability, and consistency of data and systems by providing the necessary resources, processes, and tools to preserve high-quality
performance.
CSG administrators provide expertise in most technological platforms, including MS Windows, UNIX, Linux, VAX/VMS, and Mac. This support
involves the following:
- Deploying upgrades and patches
- Managing and monitoring system security processes and controls
- Ensuring system configuration and performance
- Testing hardware components and software releases
- Researching and recommending future technologies to meet project needs
For instance, CSG supported the Forest Service's resource-intensive geospatial data requirements. This involved selecting and deploying high-
performance servers and peripheral components. It also involved configuring and integrating numerous disparate GIS data management and
manipulation applications -- some purchased from vendors and some custom developed -- most of which placed high demands on system
processing and storage resources.
